Dropbox

The lab used DropBox to store our data. The lab has a central DropBox account, that you will be invited to a Shared folder from. The folders you have available to you follow a logical structure. This is detailed here in case outside readers want to consider whether this is best practice or not.

There are the following directories:

• data

• papers

• protocols

• risk assessments

When you join the lab a risk assessment template will be in the risk assessment folder. Please use that and the generic templates on the safety pages of this manual to risk assess your work.

The papers folder will contain any relevant papers that your supervisor has identified for you.

The protocols folder is the place to store the formal protocols you are following, so that others can use them. Scripts should also be backed up on GitHub.

The data folder is for storing all of your work, in conjunction with your lab book.
